Formerly, MTG Builders, our new Indigenous program with the Department of Housing and ATC Midwest will directly employ Indigenous youth to undertake carpentry apprenticeships while building Homes West homes in Geraldton with various building companies.

The program was designed to assist Indigenous people gain their trade qualification in an environment that shows compassion and understanding to their cultural needs and environments.  It also aims to address the under-representation of Aboriginal people in the building and construction industry.

The original program was the first of its type in WA and since its inception MTG Builders had commenced more than 40 Indigenous apprentices and trainees and completed the building of 48 dwellings over a 20 year MOU with the DOH.

Our ongoing vision is to create a sense of achievement through hard work and commitment, and for participants in the projects to eventually become role models to their peers.

We recruit and mentor the participants alongside their host employer, which can vary from project to project based on successful tendering.
